ESC FOR CARS

Electronic Speed Controllers that have been created for use in cars mainly do have reversing ability but more up-to-date sports car controllers can have reversing capability disabled when they are required for racing.

Radio Controlled CarSome sport controllers have specific controls for races and dynamic brake abilities. The ESC harnesses the motor as a generator by inserting an electrical load over the armature. This then makes the armature more difficult to turn, which slows or stops the model. A number of controllers have the advantage of regenerative braking.

This in turn puts the voltage being created by the motor back to charging the vehicles drive batteries. On full size vehicles, regenerative braking is used in electric and hybrid golf carts and other hybrid vehicles. Also dynamic braking is used in diesel-electric locomotives to assist in slowing trains on lengthy downgrades.
