Now, popular with radio controlled plane enthusiasts are brushless motors this is because of the power, speed and last ability they have compared to conventional motors. Although, brushless DC controllers are more complex than brushed motor controllers. This is because they have to convert the DC from batteries to phased AC, which are used by the brushless motors.
The right phase changes with the turning of the motor and this is how it becomes complicated. Most of the time, back EMF from the motor detects the rotation but existing variations use the optical or magnetic detectors.
Programmable speed controls mainly use options specified by the user that allow for defining the low voltage cut off points, acceleration, timing, direction of rotation and braking. By changing 2 of the 3 leads from the speed controller to the motor the direction of the motor can be reversed.
